St. Vincent de Paul

St. Dominic’s Conference

Years ago, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was founded by people who cared about the problems of those around them; whose concern galvanized them into ACTION.

We of St. Dominic’s conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul still care and we’d like you to care with us.

Comprised of Catholic men and women, the Society is quietly at work throughout Bay County to serve those in need as well as people who have temporarily fallen on hard times in our parish and in our local community. We strive to serve all people in need, regardless of race, religion or cultural heritage always holding fast to the vision of the Society and supplying the resources necessary to show people God’s love.

St. Vincent de Paul

bulletWe visit people at home, in hospitals, and in other Institutions.
bulletWe give advice, and vouchers for food, medicines, and other necessities to those in need.
bulletWe reach out to the lonely, and the alienated.
bulletWe help to educate those in need to enable them to obtain benefits to which they are entitled.
bulletWe teach children skills which they will carry into adulthood.
bulletWe help people who are seeking employment with their resumes and job applications.
bulletWe work with other churches and agencies on community projects.
bulletWe try at all times to make this world a better place and to better the lives of those whom the system has forgotten or left behind.

Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month in the large meeting room in the parish office building. Changes are published in the Sunday Bulletin.

“I have no money left and me and my three kids and I need something to eat.”

“Mom’s getting sicker. How will I pay for her medications?”

“I’m still looking for a job. They will turn off the power unless I pay the utility bill now!”

“If I can’t pay this month’s rent, we will be forced to leave.”

“I’m out of my mind with worry, won’t someone please HELP.”

For temporary assistance or referral to an agency for long term aid, please call or stop by the parish office.

Prayer to St. Vincent de Paul

Patron of Charitable Workers

Dear Saint Vincent, the mere mention of your name
suggests a litany of your virtues:
humility, zeal, mercy, self-sacrifice.
It also recalls your many foundations:
Works of Mercy, Congregations, Societies.
And the Church gratefully remembers your promotion
of the priesthood.
Inspire all charitable workers,
especially those who minister to the poor---
both the spiritually and the materially poor.   Amen.
