Mission

Catholic education is an expression of the mission entrusted by Jesus to the Church He founded.

"Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples; baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you."      (Matthew 28:19-20)

Education program for the young must strive to teach doctrine, to do so within the experiences of Christian community, and to prepare individuals for effective Christian witness and services to others. In doing so, student's growth in personal holiness and a deeper relationship with Christ will be fostered.

What We Do

Catechists are willing to share their own faith-life with the children and, by providing a loving, caring environment, guide the students to grow in the understanding of the Faith and their importance as members of St. Dominic's Parish Family. Catechist Assistants are also a vital part of our program.

"You did not choose me; I chose you and I appointed you to go and bear much fruit, the kind of fruit that endures."         (John 15:16)

Under the direction and guidance of the Religious Education Office and using approved textbooks based on the Catechism of the Catholic Faith, our Religious Education Program offers:

Classes for children in grades K - 8
†  Two session scheduled on Sunday mornings at 8:55 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., enabling students to attend parish Liturgy with their families
†  Special Sacramental classes during the year for both parents and children, in preparation for the reception of Reconciliation and Eucharist
†  An invitation is extended to students in grades 6 - 8 to join the Middle School Youth Group.
Annual registration for the Religious Education Program is held in August, as well as throughout the year for new members of our parish.

All announcements for the Religious Education Program are published in the Parish Bulletin.

How You Can Help

Become a Catechist or Catechist Assistant and share your faith with the children of our parish!
