Father
Peter Zalewski was born in Beaufort,
South Carolina and raised in Miami, Florida. He attended the
U.S. Air Force Academy
in Colorado Springs, Colorado and graduated in 1988. After arriving
in the Florida Panhandle in 1989, he served on active duty with the U.S.
Air Force at
Hurlburt Field
in Fort Walton Beach. During his time on active duty, he also served
in Panama, Saudi Arabia, and various other locations until he entered the
Seminary in 1992.
Father Pete attended
Notre Dame Seminary
in New Orleans, Louisiana from 1992 to 1997, and was ordained to the
diaconate by Bishop Sam Jacobs of Alexandria, Louisiana in 1996. In 1997
he was ordained to the Priesthood by our Bishop, John H. Ricard.
Father served as
Associate Pastor at St. Dominic's from February 1999 to January 2002, when
he was made the Administrator. Bishop John H. Ricard, S.S.J.
officially appointed him Pastor of St. Dominic Parish on November 21,
2002.
