|
|
Children's
Liturgy of the Word is a wonderful way to form our children in a
quality liturgical experience and to facilitate the proclamation of
Scripture into the child's life.

What Is
Children's Liturgy?
 |
 |
Liturgy
of the Word for Children is a concerned and sensitive way to enable
children to participate in the formal worship experience of the
community. The liturgies are intended to nourish and guide
their spiritual growth, and to immerse them in the Word in ways that
are understandable to them.
We celebrate the Liturgy through a "kid's eye" point of view.
We try to do this by allowing them to celebrate God's word at their
own pace, giving them the opportunity to ask questions, to interact
and to offer their thoughts and reflections, following the pattern
of normal congregational liturgy. It is designed to create a
sense of belonging. You would be amazed at how much the
children understand and remember from the Scripture passages. |

Why Do We Have
Children's Liturgy?
 |
|
| |
|
|
Children
have the right to hear what God has to say to them. They have
the right because they have been baptized. God wants to speak
to children as well as to adults. The problem is that in our
liturgy, the Scriptures are proclaimed in adult language which
children can not comprehend.
Children's Liturgy invites them to
share their thoughts and experiences for the day. This enables
them to discover and recognize themselves in the story proclaimed in
the Gospel.
When they make the discovery from
with their experience, they can then thank, praise, and bless God in
their daily lives and cling to our faith in their times of need. |

When Is Children's
Liturgy Of The Word?
 |
| |
|
| |
Children's
Liturgy is provided during the 11:30 am Mass each Sunday during the
school year.
Beginning with
the proclamation of the scripture readings, children are invited to
come forward. They are quietly led to the Chapel by the
Leader.
Children rejoin their parents in
church at the Offertory of the Mass. |
